Donald James LaBauve, Sr.
is a native of Baton Rouge, La. for 63 years. He is married to
the former Judy Landry, and they have five adult children. They
have resided at 12310 Sherbrook Drive in Baton Rouge for 32 years,
and are members of St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
LaBauve graduated in accounting
from LSU, and became certified in 1969 in the State of Louisiana
while working at Dow Chemical, La. Division in Plaquemine. He
became controller of Homer Knost Construction Co. in 1970, and
later held the same office in Royal American Corporation. The
accounting experience acquired in these entities includes standard
costing, construction, life and casualty insurance, real estate
(including resorts), wholesale distribution, and retailing.
In 1977, LaBauve began his
career as a sole practitioner certified public accountant. While
conducting a practice of accounting, auditing, consulting, and
tax preparation for small business and individuals, he has gained
experience in the areas of non-profits, government, bankruptcies,
partnerships, trusts, recreation clubs, cemeteries, engineering,
medical, wholesale beverage distribution, auto repair, and farming.
He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public
Accountants and the Louisiana Society of Certified Public Accountants.
LaBauve has been active in
the Optimist organization, and has served for a number of years
as accountant for the Optimist Leukemia Foundation of Louisiana.
He also served as a charter officer and accountant for the American
Diabetes Association, La. Affiliate, Inc.
